She has enjoyed painting with words since her teenage years. She writes poem stories—based on family, travels, and imagination. Marilyn taught art at the elementary and middle school levels for many years. She has been a waitress, an art gallery manager, a poetry and art workshop facilitator, and a docent at an art center. She lives in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin with her husband and brown-eyed golden retriever named Pemene.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eZelke-Windau’s work has appeared in many printed and online venues.
